The Frederick Film Festival continues its tradition of providing an early event before the Festival to bring awareness to the region about the impending deluge of quality films arriving downtown June 26-28. This fundraising/awareness-raising event has traditionally been dubbed The Kickoff and has includes short films, great food, free-flowing malted beverages from Brewer's Alley, and a renowned musical act...all for one ticket. All for one price. All for one night only!

This year, the F3 is proud to welcome legendary blues guitarist Tom Principato and his band to the pre-event for an evening of hot licks, cold beer, good food, and great short films.

Tom Principato has spent more than 40 years as a guitarist and singer based in his hometown of Washington, D.C. In the 1970's, Tom was leader of the legendary band Powerhouse, an East Coast phenomenon who released an album "Night Life" to critical acclaim. With a reputation built on a career that boasts 17 albums, 27 "Wammie" awards in numerous categories from the Washington, DC Music Assoc. and over 5,000 gigs which includes over 50 tours of Europe, Tom Principato has been taking his Indie infused eclectic roots mixture of Rock, Funk, Blues and Latin Sounds all over the World----all along the way leaving audiences wowed and slack jawed with his virtuoso talent.
