Selections from the 2009 72 Film Fest!
Saturday, March 27, 2PM at the Cultural Arts Center
72 Fest is a performing arts organization, which is headquarted in Frederick, MD and provides an outlet for artists to develop new, original works within a 72-hour period of time within the direction of a team-based competition. 72 Film Fest is the organization’s flagship event happening every October.
The way it works is that filmmaker teams, comprised of 1-to-infinity team members, register for the event. At the Launch Party, teams select Secret Criteria, to be the basis for the short film they will be creating. Then, teams are given precisely 72-hours to write, shoot, score, edit, and turn in their movie. The following weekend every eligible movie turned in on time will screen to a packed-out audience at the historic Weinberg Center theater in downtown Frederick. The movies are judged by a panel of industry professionals, and awards and prizes will be handed out to films that excel in various categories.
