STUDENT FILMS!

To heighten the local flavor of the festival, the F3 continued its traditin of including a student film component to the program. The festival invited area high school students to submit original short films for the festival’s local competition. In addition to being recognized as participants in the film festival, students will be eligible to win a DVD set with stock footage for future filming valued at over $1200.00 as well as free entry fee into the 2011 72 Film Fest which takes place in October.

We believe the student film component serves to underscore the commitment to independent and creative film making and we are very excited about the direction this will take the festival.

Films submitted will be screened at the festival, filmmakers are encouraged to be on hand, and prizes will be awarded following the screening.

This year's judge is director Michael Tulley whose film, Septien, was accepted to this year's Sundance Film Festival. His documentary film, Silver Jew, will screen at the festival on Saturday the 26th.
